Canine Diagnostic Imaging
Your dog’s health is our top priority. Our state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging services help us to accurately and promptly treat your dog.
High-quality digital imaging equipment is an essential and integral component for the diagnosis and treatment of your dog. Animal General Hospital has invested in comprehensive imaging modalities to support our ability to visualize the internal body structures of your dog.
Diagnostic imaging can be used to:
- Locate a broken bone
- Detect disease
- Diagnose a diversity of internal disorders
- Detect a foreign object in your dog’s body
- Measure the progression of a tumor or growth
- Evaluate the size, shape, position, and condition of internal organs
Diagnostic imaging often necessitates the use of several different technologies to obtain the information needed to diagnose and treat your dog. These imaging modalities include:
- Radiography (X-ray)
- Ultrasound
- Echocardiography
- CT Scan
- C-arm (fluoroscopy)
- MRI
- Arthroscopy
- Laparoscopy
- Thoracoscopy
- Flexible and rigid endoscopy.
Radiography (X-ray) and abdominal ultrasound (including echocardiography, or cardiac ultrasound) are the most commonly utilized imaging modalities in veterinary medicine.
These diagnostic procedures may require sedation in some cases in the interest of your dog’s well-being, comfort, and to ensure the best image quality. However, the majority of these tests are performed without sedation or anesthesia. Results are typically available immediately allowing us to provide a swift diagnosis.
Everyone was so wonderful from the moment we walked in. So kind and attentive. Dr. W and his staff made us feel as if we were their only patients that day. I never felt as though we were being rushed through to get to the next appointment. Everything was explained thoroughly and all questions were patiently answered. Would highly recommend!
We had a great experience bringing our kitten Sam to Animal General! The staff was kind and caring and was great at communicating with us through the whole process. We can’t wait to bring our other pets there for their vet needs.
Always a wonderful and positive experience!
Super friendly and helpful staff- The vet was compassionate and very knowledgeable. My puppy came in with a fractured femur and right away received lots of love and attention. I know I left him in good hands.
